 Special Event - Member Group Shoot - Shelter Island - San Diego
I'm delighted to announce the second group shoot. All site members are welcome to attend.
Where: Shelter Island, San Diego
When: Sunday, February 26, 2012 - 9:00 am.
Please go to the event registration system to register for this event. (You need to be logged in to the website to register.)
Meeting instructions are in the website forums, viewable by logged in members.
Shelter island is not really an island, but a T-shaped spit of land formed from the dredgings of San Diego Harbor. It has a fishing pier and several pieces of public art. There are good views of downtown from here and many boats. There are often pelicans and seals to see and plenty of boating activity.
Come and meet fellow photographers, get some great photographs!

 While visiting friends over the holidays, I was handed a book titled “The Last Steam Railroad in America” featuring the photographs of O. Winston Link. The photos, from the 1950s, were of the Norfolk and Western Railway. Many of them were taken at night. I was stunned by their quality and amazed that I had never heard of this master of photography until now.
