Many DSLR cameras have the ability to shoot time lapse. By putting the camera on a tripod and setting it up to capture a series of images, you can turn your photography into movie making.

Here is a quick sample I did down on Harbor Drive in San Diego. It took about 5800 images to make up this video of the San Diego Silver Man:
