I never get bored with San Diego as a place to do my photography. From ocean to beaches to city to mountains to desert, San Diego has so much to inspire a photographer and I like to photograph it all! Whenever I get time I'll add articles to this section describing locations in San Diego County from a photographer's viewpoint. When possible, I'll include some video. I hope that whether you live in San Diego or you are visiting, these articles contain something to inspire you to head out with your camera!
Rating System
I use the following rating system in my articles based on my personal opinion of how suitable a location is for photography:
- ESSENTIAL: missing this would be like going to Egypt and not bringing back a shot of the pyramids.
I am very hard to please, so I don't expect many locations to receive this rating.
- HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: if you are in San Diego with a camera you should definitely check this out.
- RECOMMENDED: worth a visit, but not a big deal if you miss it.
- AVERAGE: if you are an enthusiastic photographer I'm sure you'll find something of interest here.
- AVOID: visiting here with a camera could get you killed. I don't know of any such places in San Diego,
but if I find myself there and survive, I'll let you know.
I haven't included the top San Diego visitor locations such as the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, and Legoland. These are already covered extensively on the web and commercial restrictions make it hard for me to film and shoot there.
